I set up websites with WordPress software. With WordPress, its very cost effective as the software is free & you control the agenda, whether you’re communicating on behalf of a company, or for personal reasons. You can embed images, audio and video on your blog. Blog posts can be of unlimited length. Another advantage of having a blog is that it will let you go on the offensive with your communications strategy. You’ll be able to communicate whatever you want, on your schedule. Many blogs include the ability to offer contact forms, polls, chat and other functionality.
I also have a lot of experience with social media & can set up Twitter accounts, facebook fan pages & Google + pages that will link to your site. I can also advise on free or inexpensive email newsletter service & can set up a sign up form on your blog.
A third-party hosted blog (like this blog) requires a hosting plan and installation on a third-party server. I recommend Tiger Technologies @ $6.95 a month (paid in advance for 12months) or $7.95 a month. I can change themes, install and remove plug-ins and customize your blog to your requirements.
It doesn’t take too much to set up a blog (typically only a couple of hours work depending the theme and plugins required). If you require a domain name I can find that for you (I recommend a dot.com but depends on whether the domain you want is available) & for hosting. Maintenance – it depends how much help you want each month. I am also happy to provide training & support for you as you learn the ropes of posting in your blog. I have had to learn the hard way myself so I understand the initial challenges of starting a blog.
